I created this company name and logo at the request of a friend for his mobile bartending service. He has always been a fan of the mid-century style, and I had initially toyed around with names like ‘Atomic Cocktail,’ ‘Atomic Martini’ and such. Some research on my part revealed that those names had been used many times and were not able to be trademarked. The atomic symbol in the background of the logo dates from this stage, and we decided to retain it when we changed the name to Daddy-O’s Martinis. He had used the nickname ‘Daddy-O’ for many years and wanted to incorporate it somehow. My concept had always been to have the look of a neon sign outside a bar, and I believe the final logo recalls that look of mid-century nostalgia.
